Coinciding with the Australian Open was the auction of the artwork of Ashleigh Barty and Ashvin Harrison, which ended yesterday, 01/31/22. The last named bid was €29,654.

Ashleigh Barty's dream has come true: The world number one in women's tennis and ambassador for the Rado watch brand, won the Australian Open on Saturday. She thus became the first Australian tennis player in 44 years to achieve a victory at her home Grand Slam.

Ashleigh Barty joined the Rado YoungStar program, which supports young tennis talents, back in 2017 and became an official ambassador of the watchmaker in 2020.

Ash Barty won her third Grand Slam title against Danielle Collins. After her victory in Melbourne and at the Adelaide International in early January, Ash is still unbeaten in the new season. Ash has now claimed her third Grand Slam singles title after triumphing at Wimbledon last year and Paris (Roland Garros) in 2019.

According to her coach, Ash hit her first ball when she was four years old. She was a junior Wimbledon champion at 15 and a three-time Grand Slam finalist in doubles at 17. At 21, Ash became Australia's highest-ranked player and at 23, the world No. 1. In addition to her 14 singles titles, Ash has won 12 doubles titles in her career, playing with a variety of partners.
