A fashion show will be held in Valentino's hometown of Voghera, where he was born on 11 May 1932. Valentino is probably the most famous citizen of the town located in the province of Pavia. The exhibition will open on 11 May and run until 5 June 2022.
In the Teatro Sociale, 36 dresses from the archives, from the 1960s to the first decade of the 21st century, will be shown both on stage and in the boxes. The production is also accompanied by music and light shows. It is a metaphor in which Valentino's women are both actresses and spectators, without differences, all belonging to a global vision that represents a total idea of beauty and femininity in which each subject is on the same level.
level.
Alongside the dresses are archival pieces that reflect the spirit of the times in which the dresses made their debut, from the 1960s to our own time. On the stage itself, there will be a staging of red dresses, the most recognisable sign of the Maison, the so-called Valentino red. It is said that Valentino, when he was still a student, had a moment at the opera in Barcelona when he saw a woman in the audience dressed entirely in red and thought to himself that this was the most perfect colour a woman could wear.

Today, Maison Valentino is run by Pierpaolo Piccioli, a worthy successor. He has succeeded in infusing the Maison with new values, assembling an eclectic circle of artists, designers and poets and connecting fashion to all these worlds. Piccioli's fashion show in Paris is already legendary, where a signature shade of pink created by him and the Pantone Institute was applied onto all the fabrics and even the set. Most recently, Maison Valentino was the main sponsor of the Italian pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
As a further tribute to the 90th anniversary, the Maison is presenting a contemporary hoodie with black and red lettering of the famous Valentino quote: "I Love Beauty, It's Not My Fault". It will be available in limited quantities on Valentino.com. The proceeds will be donated to the Fondazione Valentino Garavani & Giancarlo Giammetti.
The exhibition at Voghera opens on 11 May and runs until 5 June 2022.

VALENTINO PINK PP COLLECTION
AUTUMN WINTER 22-23
The most beautiful looks and backstage photos
For the VALENTINO PINK PP COLLECTION head designer Pierpaolo Piccioli created dresses with the experimental drive of a radical gesture. The color palette was reduced to a single shade of pink, created together with the Pantone Color Institute. The color pink created a unique identity in the show, it was an absolute individuality and unrepeatability. The pink dresses harmonized even in different fabric variations, buttons or hardware - a masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship.
