LA VILLETTE

NAPOLÉON

L'exposition

28 May to 19 December

As admired as he was controversial, Napoleon Bonaparte was a complex personality whose life shone between heroism and tragedy, victory and defeat. To mark the bicentenary of his death, the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais and La Villette are staging a spectacular exhibition that paints a fair and uncompromising portrait of a fascinating figure who shaped contemporary France. The exceptional collaboration between the Louvre, the Châteaux of Versailles, Fontainebleau and Malmaison, the Musée de l'Armée, the Mobilier National and the Fondation Napoléon has made it possible to bring together more than 150 original pieces, gathered here for the first time.
