Düsseldorf, 13 August 2023: Is every star an artist? The Kunstpalast Düsseldorf asked itself this question and invites you now to the exhibition "Beyond Fame. Die Kunst der Stars" (The Art of Stars) from 18 August 2023 to 21 January 2024. So judge for yourself the art of Bryan Adams, Meret Becker, Peter Doherty, Harald Glööckler, Grimes, Michael Stich and many more.

Many celebrities are active in the arts and go public with their work.

Two years ago, Bryan Adams came to Düsseldorf to open his own photography exhibition in the Andreas Quartier. Actor Lars Eidinger's photographic works of art can still be seen in the Leica Gallery. Sylvester Stallone's works were also on display in the window of a Düsseldorf gallery 2 years ago. However, the exhibition of Stallone's really great works took place in Hagen in the Osthaus Hagen museum.

At the press conference, Stallone confessed that he already painted as a child. But because he didn't sell any pictures, he wrote a movie script for himself. The consequences are well known. In his role Rocky he became a superstar. In the press conference at the Osthaus Hagen, he showed himself to be a sensitive and extremely fine-spirited person and his works of art reflect exactly that.

And here in Düsseldorf, of course, we have Dieter Nuhr

He is probably Germany's most important cabaret star. In his case, he is a studied artist with atelier in Düsseldorf. He also confessed to having had marketing problems selling his paintings at the beginning of his artistic career, which is why he initially took a different path. What both artists have in common is that art does not let them go, they are restless; perhaps because it is only through art that they feel truly understood.

And so the Kunstpalast is now addressing this phenomenon. On display are the works of personalities from acting, sport, politics, music or literature. The organisers promise to surprise visitors with the selection of artworks, saying that many are unexpected and the works are closely linked to the respective biographies. The exhibition will feature painting, photography, video and installation works by Bryan Adams, Meret Becker, Tim Bendzko, Carlito (Cro), Samy Deluxe, Anna Delvey, Lea Draeger, Peter Doherty, Harald Glööckler, Grimes, Josephine Henning, Anton Hofreiter, Isis-Maria Niedecken, Edi Rama, Jean Remy, Michael Stich, Laura Tonke and Gedeon Schenkt.
