Coffee house chain EL&N London opens Germany's first café in Düsseldorf. A dream in pink. But the decoration is only part of it. EL&N stands for "Eat, Live and Nourish".

Düsseldorf, 4 September 2023: The wait is over. On 14.09.2023, the iconic London cafe chain EL&N Café will open its first German branch in Düsseldorf in Schadowstrasse. The shop, which covers an area of around 245 square metres on the ground floor of the new building, is to become a sought-after meeting place; the intention is to create a "most Instagrammable" place. But the decoration is only one part. EL&N stands for "Eat, Live and Nourish" and wants to prove itself in culinary terms. The menu includes classic coffee, tea and iced tea drinks, as well as various "Instagrammable lattes" and mocktails. There are decorated cakes and pies, but also like healthy bowls, sandwiches and wraps.

What's behind it

Behind EL&N is "Girl Boss" Alexandra Miller. Since opening her first Élan Café in London's prime Park Lane location in July 2017, her café was soon dubbed the most Instagram-worthy café in London. This was followed by a café on Brompton Road, a stone's throw from Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Carnaby Street and Selfridges on Oxford Street followed. Soon international celebrities were posting their visits to Élan Café. After that, nothing stood in the way of success. Rapid expansion followed. Today there are branches in Edinburgh, Paris, Milan, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Doha and Kuwait.

A dream in pink

The cafes are an ode to pink and decorated with lots of flowers. The concept of EL&N seems to be to combine healthy recipes with style and fashion. The drinks and food are said to be very Instagram-based, but everything is supposed to be healthy. In fact, while the design is entirely made of pink dreams, it looks extremely elegant and amiable. Especially the floral decorations radiate warmth and also cosiness. Especially in our time of street style or minimalism, this is a nice contrast.
