The interview was conducted in German. German version below.

Düsseldorf, 13 December 2022: The number of women in management positions is decreasing, but according to statistics this also has to do with fewer start-ups. In the real estate industry, however, its own rules apply. According to a study by "Women in the Real Estate Industry", only every tenth position in top management is currently held by women. So meet Isabelle Veser, young fifth-generation future entrepreneur from Cologne, who has joined Veser Real Estate and will take over the building contractors from her mother Anastasia Veser, current managing director.
For more than fifteen years, Veser Real Estate has been realising projects such as detached houses, semi-detached houses and owner-occupied flats as a property development company. Company foundations run in the family history. Her great-great grandfather, a confectioner, founded a bakery production company in the former Soviet Union. Isabelle Veser describes herself as an entrepreneur out of "true family tradition and passion".
Isabelle Veser suspects that the low percentage of women is due to the fact that the construction industry is a male domain. The profession would seem attractive to few women, but this would also be due to the fact that people also have a false image of the industry. She hopes that she can set a good example through her presence and motivate other women to become self-employed.
The 27-year-old studied philosophy, but always worked in the family business. On the side, she is also extremely creative, is a songwriter and has recorded her own CD.

To the interview:
Alethea Magazine: What is it like to be the 5th generation to take over a family business? What is it like as such a young woman in this position; can you perhaps give tips to other young women?
Isabelle Veser: It is a big responsibility that I will take on in the distant future. But the most important thing is not to put pressure on yourself, because that doesn't promote productivity. I've been lucky so far to have a mother who didn't put me under pressure.
As a young woman, I can only give other women the advice to let everything come to you. Being an entrepreneur is not a profession you are born into. It rather involves a long process that leads you to this realisation. Others need less, others more time to determine if entrepreneurship is right for you. But you have to take the time to consciously choose it. Forcing yourself into something is not the right tactic.
What distinguishes your family business?
Trust and cohesion.
How is your market doing in the current situation with the Ukraine war and the energy crisis?
We have no disadvantages to complain about.
Do you also stand for innovation now? Do you want to do something different in your company, or in your opinion, better?
In our projects, we are committed to environmentally friendly construction techniques and energies. We would like to keep it that way. I would just like to expand the company's presence on Tik Tok, because it is currently a medium that can really achieve a great reach. Many companies already use Tik Tok to present their products, projects or services.
And your musical ambitions? I saw that you have released an album.
I have worked as a songwriter/singer for various record labels and artists during my studies so far. I enjoy that immensely. As long as there are jobs coming in, I won't stop. My song "Feel you" was released by Harmor Records this year and more songs will follow in the future.
Are you also interested in art, fashion or lifestyle?
Yes, very much so. Art, fashion, music are my lifeblood. Without these things, the world would be dull and grey.

Business, 13. Dezember 2022 - Unternehmer - Portrait
Was zeichnet Ihre Familienfirma aus?

HA Schult's Trash People at the Circular Valley Forum in Wuppertal on 18 November 2022."Check the thing you want to throw away and don't give it away. It is the mirror of yourself. Don't betray your soul." 600 decision-makers from business and politics came together, including environmental activists from the early days such as HA Schult and former Federal Environment Minister Klaus Töpfer, described by the Forum as the "father of the circular economy". The participants were surprised by the Trash People, many of whom had never seen the artworks up close before. But the performance also shows what role artists play. They are not among the decision-makers, but art has the power to unite and emotionalise people, as it did on this evening.

Also in the media was his legal dispute with the English artist Anish Kapoor, in which he criticised the so-called monopolisation of "Vantablack". His new colour creation "Placebo", a beautifully changing shade of purple, is available to everyone.
