ERNST HESSE
Hesse studied at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf with Erich Reusch in his class for "Integration of Visual Arts and Architecture". Sculptures by Ernst Hesse stand in the urban context of complex traffic situations - as well as in nature. For the World Cup in Japan, Hesse created the sculpture "..global frame for friendship"(2000) in Fukuroi from Corten steel.
In addition to large formats, Ernst Hesse has created sculptures that remain in a small, compressed format. They carry the energy of the whole room, he says. As round or drop shapes structured in themselves, they are sometimes reminiscent of fruit.
Hesse has long devoted himself to the shape of bread with great intensity. He searches for loaves all over the world, baked by local bakers - often in family tradition - and thus researches their distribution, but also their shape and asks how it comes about. In addition to photographic works, he casts individual of these loaves in iron and in bronze. A few years ago, an exhibition at the German Bread Museum in Ulm showed how much the baked breads differ from region to region.
Exhibitions, projects and lectures:
Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Syria, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA.

KNUT WOLFGANG MARON
Knut Wolfgang Maron is one of the most important German photographers and is considered a pioneer of modern colour photography, especially Polaroid photography.
He is the representative of renewed, subjective colour photography.
Maron's colour scale transports the viewer into another world. Nature seems to glow from within and coagulates into a mirror between dream and memory. The warm tones, the calm compositions direct the viewer's gaze to the pictorial composition of romanticism.
In addition to colour photography, Maron works in black and white and digital photography.
Knut Wolfgang Maron studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen under Otto Steinert and Erich vom Endt.
Collections:
Staatliches Museum Schwerin, Museum Ludwig Cologne, Museum Folkwang Essen, Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Bibliotèque Nationale, Paris, France, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, France, DZ Bank Frankfurt am Main.

Sustainability or circularity?
The Center for Circular Economy at RWTH Aachen University opens its doors. Companies, designers even influencers - all refer to sustainability. Sustainability is the key concept for successful market establishment. But just as important as sustainability is circularity. Circularity even replaces previous sustainability strategies. This is the thesis of Mohammad Chehadé. So get to know the newly formed Center for Circular Economy at RWTH Aachen University. In the first episode, Alethea Magazine meets Mohammad Chehadé, the Executive Director since July 2021.

Dr Tayfun Belgin, the museum director of the Osthaus Hagen talked about his plans for the Osthaus Hagen on the occasion of the opening of Von Fernen umgeben, the new series of paintings by Dieter Nuhr. The museum has been in the media lately because of star artists like Sylvester Stallone, Bryan Adams and now Dieter Nuhr - but Dr Belgin is also known for his new discoveries. And - what is actually the key to success for a museum director?
