15 July 2022: FRAMA and Albert Moya respect the heritage and charm of this historic site and create a truly welcoming place for artistic encounters.
Nestled in the hills between Galluzzo and Soffiano, in the south-western suburbs of Florence, lies Villa Medicea di Marignolle. Known as one of the Medici family villas and considered by many to be a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, the place breathes history, having served as the temporary residence of Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer Galileo Galilei, among others.

Now Villa Medicea di Marignolle has been transformed for Spanish-born filmmaker Albert Moya. Maya is a well-known director and creative. His first short film, "American Autumn", led to a collaboration with Dries Van Noten and since then he has also worked for brands such as Bulgari, Mulberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Rimowa.
Albert Maya asked the design company Frama to create a place of silence and space. He wanted to have a non-conformist living studio where imagination could flow freely. "I teamed up with FRAMA to create a studio, a space that functions as a school where artists and students can meet. A place where everyone can learn something new, absorb knowledge and exchange ideas," says Albert Moya. "There is a natural interaction between the interior design, FRAMA's universe and each selected work. It's a harmonious, unified and balanced approach."
The result is a high but relaxed aesthetic, with the creation of two workspaces for relaxing and socialising, in an environment that combines architecture, design and art.
Frama was founded by Niels Strøyer Christophersen in 2012 and is a multidisciplinary design studio. ES is characterised by minimalism, high-quality craftsmanship and timelessness. The brand's designs range from furnishings to books and perfume.
