Düsseldorf, 4 November 2022: Young art in Hamburg: The two young Generation Z artists, Grafy (24) and Joschua Gumpert (26) are already inspiring audiences with their powerful visual language, which reflects their awareness of the challenges of the times. Now they are moving into a 300-square-metre joint studio in Hamburg at the Staatsoper, directly on the Alster. The opening will take place on Friday, 11 November 2022, 6 pm.

About the "Atelier 43" studio

Grafy combines elements of pop art and urban street art with calligraphy. With his expressively alienated portraits, including those of model Winnie Harlow, he wants to make a statement for diversity and the beauty of being different. 

In large-format acrylic works, Joschua Gumpert deals with the existential global issues of our time: biodiversity, oceans, animal suffering, resources, climate change. The Hamburg-born artist calls his artistic concept "statement art", because, according to Gumpert's statement: "We can still save our planet. But it has to happen now. Without ifs and buts!"

One can hope that the two artists will inspire each other in their new joint studio and that the artsy Hanseatic city can now look forward to another cultural hot spot.

November 2022: Junge Kunst in Hamburg: Die beiden jungen Generation Z Künstler, Grafy (24) und Joschua Gumpert (26) begeistern schon heute das Publikum mit ihrer kraftvollen Bildsprache, in der sich ihr Bewusstsein für die Herausforderungen der Zeit spiegelt. Jetzt beziehen sie ein 300 qm großes gemeinsames Atelier in Hamburg an der Staatsoper, direkt an der Alster. Die Eröffnung findet am Freitag, den 11. November 2022, 18.00 Uhr, statt.

Über das Atelier „Atelier 43“

Grafy kombiniert Elemente der Pop-Art und Urban Street Art mit Kalligrafie. Mit seinen expressiv-verfremdeten Porträts, u.a. von dem Model Winnie Harlow, möchte er ein Statement für Diversität und die Schönheit des Andersseins setzen. 

Joschua Gumpert beschäftigt sich in großformatigen Acryl-Werken mit den existenziellen globalen Themen unserer Zeit: Biodiversität, Ozeane, Tierleid, Ressourcen, Klimawandel. “Statement-Art” nennt der gebürtige Hamburger sein künstlerisches Konzept, denn, so Gumperts Statement: „Wir können unseren Planeten noch retten. Aber es muss jetzt passieren. Ohne Wenn und Aber!“

Man kann hoffen, dass sich die beiden Künstler in ihrem neuen gemeinsamen Atelier inspirieren und die kunstoffene Hansestadt darf sich nun über einen weiteren kulturellen Hot Spot freuen.
