Maison Valentino's plan to re-green Piazza di Spagna, Rome.
This small gesture shows the luxury brand's great connection to its roots. Just this summer, the Spanish Steps hosted the monumental Valentino AW The Beginning show and the historic splendour of this place radiated all over the world.

Düsseldorf, 28 November 2022: Maison Valentino continues its honourable relationship with Rome with an initiative aimed at strengthening its roots in the Roman capital, both symbolically and physically.
Valentino Giving Back Ceremony
Jacopo Venturini, CEO of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Creative Director of Valentino, Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the City of Rome, and Francesco Ferrini, Professor of Arboriculture at the University of Florence, planted two palm trees in Piazza di Spagna on 25 November. Two of the existing palms were infested with the red weevil and therefore had to be replaced.
Piazza di Spagna
Piazza di Spagna, one of Rome's landmarks, is a significant and obligatory place for Valentino. Not only is there a Valentino boutique, just minutes away from the Valentino headquarters in Palazzo Mignanelli. Piazza di Spagna is one of Rome's landmarks, and Valentino is one of Rome's most important ambassadors to the world. It was only in July that Pierpaolo Piccoli had his The Beginning Haute Couture FW 22 23 collection held on the Spanish Steps, which made people emotional even beyond the world of fashion.
Stud
There are few luxury brands where the ties to the homeland are still so closely anchored in the codes of fashion. Symbols of Rome's beauty are always found in the collections, such as the Stud symbol, which adorns some of the new handbag models in oversized form.
Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion - Rome Capital said that Valentino is a perfect global ambassador for Rome and the action is for attention, care and love for the city. The monumental fashion show in Piazza di Spagna, he said, gave Rome back the role it deserves in the world of international fashion.
For Jacopo Venturini - CEO Valentino, Rome plays a fundamental role for the house and its history and it is of utmost importance to keep the cultural and ethical dialogue with the city and its community alive through every single action, however small.

Valentino Giving Back Ceremony

HA Schult's Trash People at the Circular Valley Forum in Wuppertal on 18 November 2022."Check the thing you want to throw away and don't give it away. It is the mirror of yourself. Don't betray your soul." 600 decision-makers from business and politics came together, including environmental activists from the early days such as HA Schult and former Federal Environment Minister Klaus Töpfer, described by the Forum as the "father of the circular economy". The participants were surprised by the Trash People, many of whom had never seen the artworks up close before. But the performance also shows what role artists play. They are not among the decision-makers, but art has the power to unite and emotionalise people, as it did on this evening.

Lavazza 2023 artistic masterpiece calendar "Yes, we`re Open" by Alex Prager.
One of the favourite projects of big brands is to make calendars to combine with art and creativity. How can you possibly create something new? The Italian coffee manufacturer Lavazza has succeeded with its work "Yes, we`re Open", which stages the café bar, described by Lavazza as a "parallel universe café bar". Lavazza chose US photographer Alex Prager for the assignment. Her lush figures, staged in Technic Colours, are artificial and real at the same time, experiencing the problems of today. Alex Prager herself describes them as a "contemporary scream".

Around 43,000 people visited the fair to see the curated range of contemporary works, classical modernism and post-war German art. It was questionable how the results would turn out, given the energy crisis and the Ukraine war: Read on if you're interested in numbers:
