After last year's pilot project, the second Start Art Week in Düsseldorf will take place

with more than 30 workshops and networking events

What is the Start Art Week?

Many artists lack the necessary entrepreneurial skills after graduation. Start Art Week aims to fill this gap by offering differentiated events around the issues and entrepreneurial challenges facing arts practitioners and creatives, especially at the start of their careers.

This summer's event will focus on the essential topics of financing and marketing. Where can artists and designers find suitable funding programmes or financing models and how can they draw attention to their creative work. NFTs will also be explained.

Highlights from the overall programme

"Social media skills" - workshop on 19 June by Dr. Elke Backes, art influencer and cultural journalist

"Successful Self-Marketing for Artists!" - Workshop on 13 June by Cai Wagner, author of the two guidebooks "Eine Galerie finden" and "Erfolgreich ohne Galerie.

"Self-marketing for artists" "Believe the hype: NFTs or the art of rethinking the market"

NFT theme day of the KomKuK of the Düsseldorf Economic Development Agency on 14 June at the NRW Forum.

Start Art Week takes place under the patronage of Lord Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller and is supported by many players in the art scene and creative industries in the Rhineland. The overall event is sponsored by the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
